While IHRI was established as a specialized Higher Education Institution in 2022, we stand on a formidable foundation: a fifty-year legacy in professional practice and work-based learning.
We were born from the realization that the world's most "wicked problems"—in health systems, space adaptation, and climate resilience—cannot be solved by textbooks alone. They require Practitioner-Scholars: leaders who have deep experience in the field and the academic rigor to prove their methods work.

For the individual, IHRI is an accelerator. We don't ask you to pause your career to study; we ask you to bring your career into the study. You work with our faculty to formalize your expertise into a Level 8 Doctorate.

Governance & Licensing
The International Health Research Institute (IHRI) is officially licensed by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) as a Higher Education Institution (Licence No. 2025-004). Our qualifications are aligned to the Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF) and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), providing portable, internationally recognised credentials.
