1. Introduction
The International Health Research Institute (IHRI) is committed to maintaining a secure and transparent digital environment for our Doctoral Candidates, Research Partners, and institutional stakeholders. This protocol outlines our usage of cookies and similar tracking technologies across our platform (ihri.edu.eu).
2. Cookie Architecture
Cookies are small data packets utilized to recognize your device and maintain your preferences during your interaction with our systems. At IHRI, we minimize the use of non-essential tracking to protect the data sovereignty of our community.
3. Categorization of Digital Identifiers
| Category | Operational Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Essential for the security and core functionality of the platform, including candidate login sessions and form processing. The site cannot function without these identifiers. | Exempt |
| Performance / Analytics | Utilized to monitor site load speeds and navigation patterns. All data is aggregated and anonymized to ensure zero personal identifiability. | Explicit Opt-In |
| Functional | Remembers institutional preferences such as language settings and accessibility configurations across both Pillar I and Pillar II nodes. | Explicit Opt-In |
4. Third-Party Technical Delivery
IHRI utilizes industry-standard content management and systems architecture to deliver our academic and research services. These core technical stacks may deploy cookies strictly necessary for load balancing and security. We maintain a rigorous vetting process to ensure all third-party delivery mechanisms comply with our Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) and GDPR standards.
5. Management & Withdrawal of Consent
In accordance with the EU "Cookie Law," you maintain full sovereignty over your digital identifiers:
- Institutional Consent Banner: Upon your first visit, you may explicitly select which non-essential categories to permit.
- Browser Command: You may configure your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.) to block all cookies. Note that this may degrade the functionality of secure candidate portals.
- Right to Erasure: You may clear your browser cache at any time to remove all persistent IHRI identifiers.
